Remnant of a buried past

gentle strays of strolling bliss
striding across the meadows green.
the golden sky lights the warm summer breeze
as it ripples to caress the soft green blades that litter the fields.
~
yet....lurking beneath its fresh luscious covers.
decays a dark past buried 6 feet under.
~+~
Repressed but strong,
Prevalent with resilience,
the past may sometimes creep to the surface.
and the only way to vanquish these anxieties, is to face it again...no matter how much it hurts
~+~
To
force oneself to walk against his path.
To venture out and retrieve the desecrated past,
the ashes of which I scattered across the barren plains
to be crumbled to dust and disposed by the winds.
~+~
And now, upon the foot of the plains I stand,
gazing upon the scorn I banished my memories to.
Caught within the choices
against my evolved lone nature.
~+~
as the sweet winds of mild destruction call,
alluring forth whatever war-shattered remains remain.

A loner's heart rages between love and hatred.
Whilst the nearing apocalypse dawns upon two halves of a torn-up soul.
